Open Media is expanding into international markets through joint venture partnerships. Our business model is based on a principal of maximising synergies to adapt the luxury destination magazine concept of the existing Essential titles to new locations. We are actively seeking partnerships in new markets.

Project Asia Corp.

Project Asia Corp. is a group of companies with operations from media to creative services and events in the Macau SAR market. De Ficção - Multimedia Projects Ltd, the media arm of Project Asia Corp. is Open Media's partner in Global Asia Media Limited, that publishes Essential Macau. Other publications from De Ficção - Multimedia Projects Ltd. are Macau Business, the region’s first English magazine, a monthly publication which since its launch has become the voice of business in the Chinese territory that had a Portuguese administration until 1999. The group also publishes a monthly business magazine in Chinese ( and from March 2012 a daily business newspaper in English.

The Expat Group

The Expat Group (TEG) focuses on providing information and support to the international community which has an interest in Malaysia. This audience includes expats living in Malaysia, leisure and business travellers as well as people living outside the country seeking more information. This is achieved through publications, most notably The Expat and Senses of Malaysia as well as various websites and other digital communications, research, consulting services, membership cards and an agency to assist with visas. TEG works closely with several Government departments to share information about the views of the international community as well as ensure foreigners are kept advised of developments and policies affecting them.
