Barlavento

Barlavento was launched in Portimão as a regional newspaper in 1975. In June 2014, it was acquired by the Open Media publishing group, who made a major commitment to continue the weekly newspaper and carry on the legacy of this historic title. At the beginning of January 2024, after 48 years on paper, Barlavento became a digital publication with daily updates. The new site launched in January 2024 highlights regional current affairs with a focus on local business and the economic development of the region along with community news.
